The sun shone as Messy Church held it’s ‘mini olympic’ themed afternoon. 40 children split into 4 teams and participated in races, as their familes cheered them on. Many thanks to the girls from Parish Youth who came along despite a very busy day, to lead these teams and help the younger children.
Everyone made a trophy, golden medal cake and decorated fish whilst also having the opportunity to write a prayer which included prayers for a ‘safe, fun summer break’, ‘to make new friends at new schools’ and ‘thanking God for a fun afternoon’.
The sun continued to shine as everyone settled down for a ‘BIG PICNIC’ (outside!!) and listened to the story of Jesus feeding the crowd.
The afternoon ended with each child receiving a medal, presented by two members of Parish Youth and we hope everyone had a great afternoon.
Many thanks to the ‘Messy Team’ for all they do to make these days so enjoyable for the children and they’re families.
Don’t forget children’s cinema club runs every Tuesday in the school holidays at St. Clare’s – 2pm.
