Following increasing concerns from constituents regarding social housing provider Livin’, Mr Wilson had a positive meeting with CEO Colin Steel, who agreed to keep the situation under review and said he would meet with Mr Wilson in a month’s time. The meeting followed a letter Mr Wilson sent to Mr Steel, after the MP’s constituency office saw an increase in the number of elderly tenants reporting issues.

The letter Mr Wilson sent, read “One of the most common problems includes elderly people reporting to Livin that their boiler has broken down leaving them without hot water or heating. They are then told that they must wait two weeks or more for an appointment with an engineer. Constituents have also had problems with repairs or renovations that have been carried out in a shoddy manner leaving them with ongoing problems.

They report that it can be weeks before anyone returns to look at the problem and even then it is often still not resolved.’ All of these concerns were raised by Mr Wilson, and overall the meeting with Colin Steel was a positive one.
