‘Ten facts you probably didn’t know about Durham University’ss History’ by Dr Jonathan Bush.
Established by an Act of Parliament in 1832, Durham University holds the distinction of being the third oldest university in England. It has a rich and often surprising history, from its close connection to the Church of England in its early days to its present-day incarnation as a globally recognised organisation. This talk, accompanied by images from its archive collection, will explore ten facts about the University’s story that you (probably) weren’t aware of, and trace the evolution of a unique institution.
