The Mayor Barbara Clare, hosted a Charity Golf Day at the Oak Leaf Golf Complex on Friday, 30th August 2013.
The event was a huge success with £725.25 raised for the Mayor’s nominated charities Cardiothoracic Unit at James Cook Hospital and St. Clare’s Church Foodbank.
The Mayor thanks the sponsors and supporters of the day, namely: Newton Aycliffe Rotary Club, Don Walker Butchers, E.W. Knapton (Insurance) Ltd., Newton Press, The Village Pharmacy, Heineken UK, Sabre Rail Services Ltd., Great Aycliffe Town Council, Ellies Pies, Oakleaf Golf Club, Gregg Little Testing Centre and Aslan Golf.
The hospitality tent at the 6th tee was well received and the Mayor would like to thank fellow Councillors and friends for helping with the organisation of the refreshments.
Presentations and dinner were held at The Oak Leaf Sports Complex Function Room. Winners of the competition this year were ‘Val’s Team’ who were presented with the Annual Golf Trophy, donated by Hydro Polymers in 2003.
