A memorial Thai Boxing match, to honour fallen paratrooper Nathan Cuthbertson, will take place on Saturday 20th November 2021 at Rainton Arena at Houghton-le-Spring.
Members of the Armed Forces, past and present, will take to the ring in an evening of Thai Boxing.
The show honours Pte Nathan Cuthbertson of 2nd Battalion, Parachute Regiment (2 Para), who was killed while on foot patrol in Helmand Province in June 2008.
Organiser, Dave Corrigan, also set up a Thai Boxing club in Birtley, called the ‘Cuthy 200 Thai Boxing Academy’ and he says it has long been a passion of his to create an annual boxing match in Nathan’s name.
Dave said: “It’s amazing what Tom and Carla (Nathan’s parents) have achieved out of tragedy and it’s driven me to do what I can to help. We already have a number of fighters matched for the fight and, as you can imagine, it’s very competitive.”
Tickets for the event are priced at £25 (adults), £15 (U16s), Tables £300 (10 maximum), VIP Ringside Table £400.
The event will also be broadcast live on Fight Live TV and tickets for this prestigious event are available from paratrooper1960@sky.com or ring 07791 832266.
