Tim Sutherland is an art teacher by day and an artist by night and has been gradually working toward this exhibition and his return to the art world after a long absence. Tim passionately believes that art is an essential part of life and has much to offer all individuals as well as the community at large.

Tim, who lives in Newton Aycliffe, concentrates mainly on the rugged beauty of the diverse northern landscapes of Cumbria, County Durham and Scotland which he depicts through vibrant paintings and photographs.

His forthcoming exhibiton, called ‘Soulscapes and Storyboards’ is a celebration of the beauty and order in rural  landscapes as well as the sacred and mysterious elements of ancient sites and creation in general.

Tim engages in a variety of styles and approaches in his work, from small acrylic landscapes to large  5 foot square narrative paintings, aerosol landscapes, portraits and various forms of photography which further enhance the diversity of his forthcoming exhibition. The preview event, to which all are invited will take place at Greenfield Arts Centre on Wednesday 31st October from 6.30pm until 8.30pm and will run until 21st November. The event will include refreshments and live music.
