It was an exciting first day back after the Easter weekend at Greenfield Arts on Tuesday – we received a cheque from Livin, part of the funding for this year’s fantastic Cutting Loose event. Malcolm Gray and Allison Lonsdale from Livin presented the cheque to Katy Milne (Photo). Katy Milne, Director of Arts and Creativity at Greenfield Arts said: “We are really pleased today to receive this funding for our community carnival based Cutting Loose event. We are looking forward to the event in July and all of the fantastic community activities before-hand. I would also like to thank our other funders for their support for the project.”
After the success of 2012’s Cutting Loose Carnival, 2014’s celebration of live music, dance and costume promises to be bigger and better, with fantastic live performances from professionals and local young people. In the lead up to the event on 15th July at West Park (boating lake) the community and young people will be involved in activities to develop and create artwork, props and performances for the event. Cutting Loose is a project managed and developed by Greenfield Arts, funded by GAMP AAP, Great Aycliffe Town Council, Livin, NHS and Greenfield Arts. The event is being directed by Unfolding Theatre.
