Aycliffe Village Residence Association

An issue that is constantly raised during the monthly meetings (Village Hall, last Friday of every month), is that of cars parked on pedestrian footpaths. This blocks the use of the pavement often forcing people with children in buggies, wheelchair users and other disabled residents to use the road.
During these dark mornings and early evenings the safety implications are obvious.
It has been suggested that we request a visit from a DCC Traffic Officer, but this would result in £70 fixed penalty fines.
See https://www.durham.gov.uk/article/3499/The-cost-of-parking-fines – item 62.
This shall be our ultimate course of action but first we would like to politely request that anyone parking on footpaths desist.
In anticipation of your cooperation.
