The Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe has one of the region’s only hydrotherapy pools open to the public. It offers an ideal way to relieve pain, improve mobility or just relax with the pools massaging jets.
Sharon Stokell attends Aquacise in the pool 3 times a week. She started using the pool to relieve pain caused by her acute prolapse of discs, it also eases her asthma.
Sharon says: “When I left hospital, attending the pool was a very important part of my recovery. I have continued coming ever since as it has not only improved my health and mobility, I have made some great friends and I now come to socialise.”

Aquacise
Monday 7.30-8.30pm, Wednesday 7.45-8.45pm
Thursday 7.15-8.15pm, Friday 9-10am
Mixed Session
Tuesday 4.15-5.15pm & 5.15-6.15pm
Ladies Only Session
Thursday 9-10am
Hydrotherapy Pool Prices
1 hour session: Adult: £6.30 (concessionary £4.50)
Ages 3-16: £4.50, Ages 0-3: £2.50
There are more pool times available Monday-Saturday including Parent and Toddler sessions, visit PCP’s website for further information. It is ideal for people of all ages and abilities and is safe for non swimmers. The pool area and changing rooms are also fully accessible to disabled people with overhead and chair poolside hoists available on request.
