The Year 10 COPE group at Greenfield Community College enjoyed great weather and great experiences with fishing for Tom at the end of the Summer term. This is the fifth year that Greenfield has participated in this great skills based activity. The course is provided by Tom’s fishing, and the students spent the afternoon with Tom and Geoff as part of their course work. The trip not only met their coursework requirements, but also provided a different environment for the group to develop skills including fishing, teamwork co-operation and dedication. The students really enjoyed their session saying “fishing was good because it was really peaceful at the ponds, I learnt a lot about myself.” The visit by the Greenfield students was followed up with the WECAN PARENTS’ group, who are based at Greenfield, having a session as their children did at the ponds. It is anticipated that over the summer holidays the families will visit the ponds together. Many thanks to Tom and Geoff for leading these great sessions!
