Woodham Academy was delighted to welcome a group of students from Missouri Baptist University, organised by Mrs. Janet Davison, Head of RE.  The students were thrilled to have the opportunity of seeing a British school in action and were intrigued by the differences between education here and in the US.  Their comments included “British students are so polite” and “your lessons are so much more interesting”.  Over the course of three days they observed and participated in a wide variety of lessons, including Art, PE, Technology, Music, English, Geography and RE. They also ran an after-school activity and over 100 Woodham students stayed to participate.  “It was brilliant, we can’t wait for them to come back!”
Knowing the reputation of the American Football team, Woodham Warriors, the Missouri group brought a gift of a signed St. Louis Rams’ helmet, which they presented to Danny Ketch, Head Coach of the Warriors.
Mrs. Christine Forsyth, Head Teacher, commented “It is so good for our students to have the experience of meeting overseas students; this was a very successful visit”.
