Green Arts are thrilled to announce that they have secured another year in their lovely base through Great Aycliffe Town Council.
Having a home at the light and welcoming premises at the Eco Centre in Moore Lane, Newton Aycliffe means that the many groups and activities will be able to enjoy the space for the foreseeable future.
Green Arts offers creative opportunities to the local community and to the wider public and now boasts the new ‘little green gallery’ providing inspiration and support to local artists. The centre offers workshop space which is perfect for activities, with good parking and accessible facilities.
Many of the activities are free or come at a low cost, enabling the people of Newton Aycliffe and the surrounding villages to be inspired to learn new skills in a mindful and inclusive way. They offer family holiday workshops and a programme of creative learning.
“We would like to thank Great Aycliffe Town Council for their continued support, we are growing all of the time and the Eco Centre is a brilliant base to embark on positive and creative projects”, said Laura Towns, Project Manager.
New offers for the season include the gallery space, housing local exhibitions, a creative writing programme and a book recycling project. As the name suggests, Green Arts is passionate about recycling and learning more about sustainability through the arts. We are looking forward to expanding in the next few years and continuing with a ‘green’ ethos.
Green Arts also currently host wonderful groups such as Creative Forum, led by artist Sharron Bates, and Creative Wellbeing led by Sheila Taylor and Sonia Burn. Both groups are vibrant, popular self-led groups, where people can come together in a social and creative atmosphere. “It is lovely to hear the buzz of creatives, with lots of fun and laughter too, said Laura, “a big thank you to our groups for all of the support.”
Green Arts look forward to providing an exciting and inclusive programme in the coming months. You can find out more about the programme of opportunities by visiting www.green-arts.co.uk or email the team info@green-arts.co.uk
