Well, last week was hedgehog awareness week, but I would like to change this to Hedgehog awareness year. Nobody should forget that these poor little souls deserve to live long and happy productive lives in our gardens with hedgehog highways in our fences and also when they need to come into rescue, the best care which the Rehabber can afford. I am consistently broke, but consider myself money savvy and never let these little ones down.
I am grateful to everyone who supports and has donated, this helps me run the rescue the way I do, with the best will in the world I try to save them all, but this isn’t possible, but I have the support of an excellent vet and most meds are already in. I have also gained an ally in Sandra of Hope for Hedgehog’s Woodside, she also has our lovely ITV weather man, Ross, who assists her with her hedgehogs in his allotment!
I have admitted two poor little souls recently, I want to thank Dawn for bringing Lexi and Margaret for bringing Bryony and a very helpful donation. At the Christmas Fair at the PCP I promised a lady that I would name a female after her because she also donated. I also had a chat with Amanda Donald in Tesco. Looking great my friend.
These two little girls that I have admitted have come in because they couldn’t find food or water, they are very thin, Bryony is about five or so years old and over the years she would have given us a lot of hoglets, she is happy to be here. What I need everyone to try and do is please put water out and food in hedgehog feeding stations, if you can, please. Donella and the team of Grannies Choice may be able to help you, otherwise I have some literature.
I want to welcome Laurie and Judy, they have helped me raise funds and have a beautiful home and garden which is hedgehog friendly.
Photo: This is a picture of Bryony, she loves her food, bless her.
