volunteer group in Newton Aycliffe raised £730 for Marie Curie when they held a Ladies Night in the town. The Fundraising Group organised the event, which saw female harmony group Quartz perform to more than 80 attendees on Friday October 21 at the Moore Lane Sports Ground. Hayley Revell, Community Fundraiser at Marie Curie, said: “The Aycliffe Group organised an event to be proud of, and while having lots of fun, raised a fantastic amount of money for Marie Curie. This money goes towards the vital funds needed to support Marie Curie Nurses, who provide free care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes.” The Group support Marie Curie’s major fundraising campaigns such as the Great Daffodil Appeal and Blooming Great Tea Party, as well as promoting fundraising within the local community and encouraging new supporters to help the charity.
