Ever thought about extending your family? To help people thinking about adoption, Durham County Council is holding a monthly information session.
Social workers will be on hand to discuss the process and help answer any questions and some adoptive parents will be available to explain what life has been like since adopting.
Jessica Cowen, adoption team manager, said: “We have a lot of children who are waiting to find an adoptive family. We understand that adoption is new to people and they may be nervous about coming forward so these information sessions will be a chance for people to meet our friendly team and have any questions answered.
“It’s also a good chance to find out about the support available. We have a lot of children waiting and would like more people to find out how they could adopt.”
The next information session is due to be held on Friday, May 30 between 2.00pm and 4.00pm at Durham Town Hall. Members of the public are invited to drop-in at any time.
