Durham County Council has given notice that The Cubby is to be demolished, with works expected to commence on 8 February.
The site was an eyesore, and had to be regenerated if Newton Aycliffe is ever going to have a smart, modern town centre. It was a much loved, long-standing Aycliffe institution, so it is good that it managed to relocate to Neville Community Centre.
