Greenfield Arts are excited to offer a brand new workshop in Wax Batik led by talented textile artist Rosi Thornton. Batik is an artistic craft which is a wonderfully creative medium using wax and dye on cloth and is part of an ancient tradition which originates from Java.

The techniques are very expressive and the results can be amazing. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment and design their very own piece of work with the benefit of expert guidance and tuition from Rosi.

The Wax Batik session will be held on Thursday 25th May 2017 from 2 pm – 4 pm at a cost of only £10 for the session. All materials are provided and you will be able to take your own artwork home on the day.

The workshop is just one of the new exciting creative opportunities that are being offered this term. There is also a new creative forum which is held every Friday morning from 10.30 am – 12.30 pm and offers the opportunity for creatives of all ages and abilities to come together to develop your artistic skills with the guidance of mixed media artist Sharron Bates.

Sharron is also leading a 5 week course in exploring collage which will commence on 6th June 2017 and will run from 6.30 pm – 8.30 pm. Participants will have the chance to learn to blend materials to create truly exciting original images for themselves.
