Community Spirit and Newton Aycliffe police team are to hold a Christmas Extravaganza on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December at The Big Club, Newton Aycliffe from 11.00am to 4.00pm on both days, with a special autism friendly session on Sunday morning from 10.00am to 11.00am
Entrance to the event will be via the doors facing onto St Cuthberts Way, with wheelchair access via the front door.
As you enter the event you will see donkeys and snow owls, once inside there will be free fun games, free juice for the children, free glitter tattoos, balloons and mascots to have your photo taken with. There will also be a pet memory tree as well as a memory tree for our loved ones.
A large toy tombola and the chance to win a PS5, Nintendo Switch, laptops and many more great prizes in the fantastic Christmas Raffle.
Aycliffe Radio will be entertaining the crowds throughout with Christmas music.
For a small fee you can purchase hot dogs, cupcakes or sweets from the sweet man. Adults can also purchase festive drinks from the bar.
During the two day event we will be celebrating 75 years of Christmas in Newton Aycliffe with a superb archive display of Christmases past.
Finally, on to see Santa, Mrs Claus and the Elves in the newly designed grotto through Candy Cane Lane, where all the children will receive stickers and sweets from the elves.
We plan to be as streamlined as possible but, unfortunately, queues are inevitable and the reason we have put so much effort in to making it all as entertaining as possible. Please be patient and remember this event is free to attend and run by volunteers.
We hope to see you there.
