On Thursday 17th January all Year 9 students at Woodham Academy spent the day taking part in a careers event.

The aim of the day was to allow students to investigate different career pathways. Students worked alongside local employers and used online resources to determine which career might be of interest to them.

The event was supported by the Durham Education Business Partnership which regularly supports the school in its work-related learning provision. Sarah Worsnop from the partnership said ‘The students were an absolute pleasure to work with and exuded confidence and enthusiasm throughout the whole day’.

In recent years, Woodham Academy has placed a real emphasis on providing students with the highest quality careers education, information and advice and guidance.

The success of the programme has been highlighted in the schools last Ofsted report. This is just one of many events designed to support students in making informed decisions about their future.
