Weekly Community Group Ear (auricular) Acupuncture at the Pioneering Care Centre starts Tuesday 14th  October, 7 – 8pm.  £5 per person (one hour session)
PCP is launching this new acupuncture clinic, one of the first to be set up in the North East. It has been developed following feedback from current acupuncture users of the PCPs Natural Therapy Suite who identified cost as a barrier to attending regular sessions.
Ear (Auricular) acupuncture is similar to body acupuncture but with stimulation only to the external ear. (No need to remove any clothing)
Some people turn to ear acupuncture for help with a specific symptom or condition. Others choose to have treatment to help maintain good health, as a preventive measure, or simply to improve their general sense of wellbeing. Because traditional ear acupuncture aims to treat the whole person rather than specific symptoms in isolation, it can be effective for a range of conditions.
Regular treatments may help physical, mental and emotional health. Feedback from individuals receiving this treatment stated feelings of peace, calm and relaxation. Also the reduction in anxiety and has improved their sleep.
This new clinic will be delivered in partnership with Amanda Christer MSc. – Amanda is a successful and experienced practitioner within the field of holistic therapies and substance misuse with a passion for development and research. Amanda is fully accredited through the Federation of Holistic Therapists and began working within the field of ear acupuncture back in 2003.
The Pioneering Care Centre offers a range of complementary therapies and treatments. Complimentary therapies are well known to offer an alternative way to alleviate the effects of stress, increase energy levels, reduce aches and pains, improve mobility, help to relax and above all to increase feelings of wellbeing.
