Dorothy Whitehouse runs an art and craft group called Sharing Together Crafts which is based at the Whitehouse Funeral Service premises in Newton Aycliffe.
The ladies from Sharing Together Crafts make an array of crafts, raising funds for many charities throughout the local area and each month they choose to donate a sum of their proceeds to a different local charity.
This month the ladies chose to donate £200 to Northumbria Blood Bikes. A cheque was presented to Rob Pattinson from Northumbria Blood Bikes on Friday 5th April.
Northumbria Blood Bikes is a charitable organisation established by local volunteers to deliver essential blood and other urgent medical supplies, out of hours, between hospitals and healthcare sites in North East England.
Northumbria Blood Bikes exists entirely on charitable donations. As the service expands, they will need more bikes and more funds to cover the running costs.
