Local company Perry Process, based on Aycliffe Business Park, recently made a donation to their local food bank. The donation included various non-perishable food items and over 300 unused carrier bags.
Susan Jardin, part of the marketing department at Perry, said:
Perry recently re-branded and had lots of left over carrier bags. We knew our local food bank would appreciate them so decided to do a food collection too. It felt great to help out the local community and this is something we would like to do more often.
Durham food bank opened in late 2011 and since then has grown rapidly both in the areas served and the number of people fed. There are 28 distribution points across the North East.
The food bank takes non-perishable, in date food. Our local distribution point is St Clare’s Church, Wednesday and Friday between 1:30pm – 3:30pm.
