Dear Sir,
After months of searching for a suitable Static Caravan to provide Cancer Patients and their families respite break I am now pleased to announce a kind family has offered our charity this as a gift.
Some of our members are carers and you can see them struggling and in need of an urgent break even for a few days. We now have 57 members and most are cancer patients, others are relatives and carers.
However we need help with funding to buy all the necessary items for inside the caravan from curtains and blinds to bedding and kitchen utensils. We also need help to purchase decking and someone to fix it to make sure all our members with mobility problems can access the caravan.
Can any local company help Aycliffe’s cancer support group? We have been running over 2 years now with the help of donations from fundraising event. Our members need a respite break away from the stresses and worries of going through treatment. We are determined to make a difference, but need our local community to help.
People know me being hit with the disease myself and I struggle with pain 24/7 and go to 12 different hospitals in the North East with numerous health issues for treatment, but I’m still here and even when I have bad days when the pain is unbearable, helping others keeps me going. With the help of my family and committee members we help cancer sufferers from health professionals.
There is help and support out there now, but we need to keep informing our community on what services are available. If you are an individual and would like help please contact me or if you have a company/business and would like to assist our charity, please contact me for more information.
