Horndale Community Association visited Scarborough on Sunday 28th July, there was a great atmosphere and excitement on the coach with the young and old looking forward to a lovely day out at the seaside.

The weather was good, a little over cast, but dry. Our trips are open to anyone and this trip brought together people and families from across Newton Aycliffe.

Some comments from the day were “great day out and met new people”, “another great day out well organised”, “after being unwell, it was good to get out”.

These comments show how important these trips are to lots of people. This trip was funded by GAMP and supported by Wilko’s.

Our next meeting is Wednesday 7th August at Greenfield Arts Centre starting at 6.00pm with refreshments at 5.45pm.

We have finalised our plans for our Big FREE Community Fun Day on Thursday 15th August at Greenfield Community College from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

There will be FREE inflatable rides, fairground rides, pony rides, petting zoo, crazy critters, face painting, Professor Nincompoop, police, fire brigade, army, vintage bus rides, tombola stalls and much more.

Thanks to Tesco we will have hot dogs, ice cream and pop corn all at 50p each.

Last year we had approximately 1000 people attend the event and we hope to improve on this number this year. Please share far and wide so as many people as possible can enjoy a FREE day out.
