Saturday 19th December saw the Solar Panel farm go online ahead of schedule. All 17,000 panels have been installed by Electra a sub-contractor to Biosar UK Ltd approximately 1,500 panels were fitted daily bringing the installation forward.
Work has now commenced to complete remedial work, to reinstate the areas around the panels, ready for seed to be sown, so as to enable livestock to graze around the panels.
Biosar UK Ltd would like to thank motorists, pedestrians and residents for their patience during the period whilst transporting the necessary plant and equipment onto site.
The photo’s show the erected panels and Mr Denis Marinakis the installation manager for Electra completing the switch on.
The farm will now be producing energy into the national grid for the next 20 plus years weather permitting.
The site is still worth a visit to see what has happened to land that has not really produced worthy crops for many years.
