County Durhams’ Sports Development Team held an amazing Sport and Physical Activities Awards Night to recognize local Clubs and Volunteers from the Sedgefield area on Thursday 20th September at Hardwick Hall Hotel.

There were some amazing winners from Newton Aycliffe and they received a massive Thank you and well done from the judges for all the work they do in Newton Aycliffe.

Local Winners will compete for the County Title of each Award Category, to be announced at the County Awards Dinner on Friday 12th October 2012 at Xcel Centre, Newton Aycliffe.

Newton Aycliffe winners were-
Junior Sports Club of the year- Sedgefield 75 Swimming Club
Coach of the Year: John Moore (Sedgefield 75)
Young Coach of the year: Samantha Robson (Athena Sports Academy)
Volunteer of the Year: Gerry Fuller (Athena Sports Academy)
Young Volunteer of the Year: Adam Woods, (Sedgefield Water Polo Club)
Sporting Achievement of the Year: Caroline Saxby (Sedgefield 75)
Physical Activity Achievement of the Year: Keiran Maxwell (Athena Sports Academy)
Primary School Contribution to PE and School Sport: Byerley Park
