I would like to congratulate everyone who qualified and took part in the Nationwide Medalist of the Year Competition held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool over the weekend 8th and 9th November, competing against children from other dance schools from all over the country, with up to 200 taking part in each event.
Andrea Menzies, Jade Wakefield, Annis Race, Kalya Shaw, Kasia Shaw, Abbie Kennedy, Kieron O’Donnell, Kira Watson, Drew Shaw, John Paul Fish and Chloe Farley all qualified to compete in the Finals. Unfortunately Drew Shaw, John Paul Fish and Chloe Farley were unable to attend on the weekend.
Those who did attend the Nationwide Competition achieved some incredible results in their individual age groupings and categories with Kalya Shaw achieving 2nd Place overall in the Solo competition, Annis Race achieved 5th Place in the Slow competition, Andrea Menzies achieved 2nd Place overall in her Solo competition and 5th Place overall in her Slow competition.
Kieron O’Donnell and Abbie Kennedy achieved 5th place overall in their Pairs competition and Kalya Shaw and Annis Race were placed 1st and are now the Nationwide Champions in their Rock ‘n’ Roll pairs competition. This was an extra special result, as Annis had missed out on training in the run up to the competition due to a spiral fracture of her arm and only had the cast removed in the week leading up to the competition.
The competition was really tough, but there was a fantastic atmosphere which made the whole weekend thoroughly enjoyable.
The support from all parents, friends and families was superb and I would like to personally thank the parents for their continued support.
