Darlington Branch members of CAMRA are coming ‘out’  to Aycliffe to socialise and meet with those who find it difficult to get through to Darlington based meetings.
They also want to raise the profile of Darlington CAMRA and how we are helping prevent pubs closing in rural/ urban areas by  the use of ACV orders (Assets of Community Value).
This is a very useful procedure to layer onto threatened pubs, an extra degree of protection from closure. We have already nominated The Kings Arms at Great Stainton under this procedure and are awaiting the decision of the Council.
We are are seeking out other pubs that people think should be protected in this way.
The meeting is on Tues 8th December at the Turbinia  Sid Chaplin Drive from 7.30 pm onwards, open to both CAMRA members and non members.
