St. Joseph’s hosted their own Coronation Party on Friday 5th May. It was a wonderful afternoon to celebrate the King’s Coronation as a community. The children of St. Joseph’s kick started the event by beautifully singing some Coronation songs including the national anthem. We enjoyed a delicious picnic afternoon tea with ice creams and drinks and had great fun playing garden games and getting our faces painted. Mr. Hunt (the deputy headteacher) kindly volunteered to be splat in the face with cream pies!
Our special guests, Newton Aycliffe Town Mayor Ken Robson, Mayoress Elaine Robson and Councillor Arun M Chandran, joined the occasion to meet and chat to our wonderful St. Joseph’s community. Mayor Ken Robson judged our Coronation Coaster Competition. It was wonderful to welcome them to our school and we thank them greatly for attending.
