Greenfield Community College gymnasts opened Sedgefield’s School Sport Partnership festival whcih ran on the 3rd and 4th December. Twenty eight schools took part in a fabulous gymnastics festival organised by the partnership, at the South Durham Gymnastics Centre in Spennymoor.
Attending from Newton Aycliffe, were Greenfield Community College, Horndale Infants, Vane Road, Sugar Hill and Aycliffe Village. They all performed very impressive routines –  very well done to all who took part.
Greenfield’s gymnasts were trained by Samantha Robson from Athena Gymnastics Club (Sedgefield’s Junior Club of the year), this is part of Greenfield’s new Get Set Olympic Legacy project.  Through this project Head Coach Samantha is now coaching at the school every week.
Greenfield students are very much enjoying this fantastic club opportunity, and a wide range of other new activity opportunities through their Get Set funding. The school is delighted to have been given this financial support  to build a lasting Olympic legacy for their students and the local Community.
Greenfield Gymnastics Club with Sam from Athena continues after Christmas every Thursday.  Anyone interested in the Club sessions can contact Samantha on 07800 847527 for more information.
