Scarlet Whitaker Dunn returned to the racetrack for the 1st time in 2023. Battling against the extremely cold conditions and a very busy racetrack. Despite this Scarlet still managed to put in some very impressive laps around the Warden Law circuit in Sunderland.
Scarlet, aged 11 is a pupil at Woodham Academy and is the daughter of Amanda Whitaker Dunn – one of Britain’s most successful female racing drivers, with over 50 race wins and 3 National and 1 European single seater Championship titles to her name (against an all male grid) in her 20 year career.
“I’m so proud of Scarlet – she drove well and was so keen to be back on track,” said Mam. “It was really busy on track which made the sessions exhilarating! The cold winter weather wasn’t the best but there was lots of new friends to meet,” stated Scarlet, “It was nice to finally meet River and her parents and I look forward to the next time we will be karting together.”
Scarlet’s Grandad: Ron Whitaker – who was also a former racer in the 1970’s, purchased and prepared the kart. Thanks to team Amaron Racing and PHM (Peninsula Historic Motorsport) for making this possible. To support Scarlet in her journey please email: mail@amandawhitaker.com
