Rotary Newton Aycliffe recently presented Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group with a donation which enables them to carry on with their essential work in the community. The group assists patients going to hospital for treatment in many ways, one of those being the making up of what are known as ‘chemo bags’ and these are available for men, women and children with one hundred of the bags being organised presently with more to follow.

To fill the bags, volunteers source items for adults which include bottled water, body sprays, pens, note and puzzle books. For children, the bags contain drinks, biscuits and sweets, coloured pencils and crayons, books, and small toys.

At Rotary Newton Aycliffe, we believe this is a great idea, an amazing use of our funds and ultimately, a fantastic use of the cash that you, the public, donate. Rotary are delighted to be able to offer assistance and to raise awareness for deserving causes such as this.

The Cancer Support Group is open to anyone affected by cancer, be it a patient, relative or carer and if you need more details, please access their Facebook page at Great Aycliffe Cancer Support Group | Facebook.
