Following on from their recent success performing School of Rock and Grease, Woodham Academy are delighted to be launching their Performing Arts Academy next year. This will be open to all students within the school and will give them the opportunity to take part in sessions for stage and set design, sound and lighting, instrumental skills and drama.
The instrumental skill sessions will be run by an external provider called Rockademy. Rockademy have a team of staff who specialise in working with students in small groups in order to develop their ensemble skills. The sessions are open to all students, regardless of their instrumental ability, and aim to develop skills on guitar, drums, piano and as a vocalist. All instruments are provided by the music department, but students are welcome to bring their own if they wish.
Students will be rehearsing in preparation for their performance of the Disney hit High School Musical next February.
