Hello everyone, I hope this finds you well.
The Neighbourhood, Response and Crime teams working out of Newton Aycliffe have been busy responding to a variety of incidents across the area over the past week, including Concerns for Safety, Missing Persons, Shoplifting, Domestic Incidents and Harassment. Here is a brief snapshot of what we have been up to;
On Monday an ACE Award was issued to Jayden, who has been doing a fantastic job helping his mother over the last few years as she has been recovering from major surgery. Well done, Jayden!
On Tuesday, the Neighbourhood Team were this time at Aycliffe Village Primary School for our school carousel presentations. The topics covered this week were Anti-Social Behaviour, Bullying and Online Safety. Thanks for having us! Next up in the New Year will be Sugar Hill Primary School.
On Wednesday, PC McCabe and PCSO Nichols attended a Shopwatch meeting in the town centre, to discuss any issues with representatives from the shops, and to plan how to work together going forward.
On Friday evening, we received a report in relation to a domestic incident. Shortly after, a male was arrested and transported to Darlington custody on suspicion of assault.
On Saturday afternoon, PCSO Nichols and PCSO Kipling were present in Tesco for a PACT Meeting. This was a great way to engage with our local residents who could bring any issues along with them and ask for advice.
On Sunday afternoon the draw was made for our Christmas Raffle. Well done to the lucky winners of some fantastic prizes, and thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket for supporting this fantastic cause.
We have received a few reports of Anti-Social Behaviour in the town centre area over the past couple of weeks. CCTV enquiries have been completed, and a number of youths have been identified and will be dealt with accordingly, working in conjunction with the ASB team at Durham County Council.
Officers have been out and about over the course of the weekend, focusing on our regular hotspot locations and engaging with our local residents in the process.
Thanks very much for your continued support, have a fantastic week.
PCSO Steven Kipling
