A local community organisation is appealing for people with appropriate skills to join its team of Trustees. Newton Aycliffe Youth & Community Centre (NAYCC) – in addition to its popular Youth Club – provides a service at the heart of the town for people seeking further education, personal support or just a meeting place to reduce isolation and improve mental health.
As well as regular activities such as the Little Gems Toddler group, Destination Judo for young people, Tai Chi and Dancercise for the over 50’s, and specialist classes such as Slimming World, Boot Camp, Belly Dancing  and Duke of Edinburgh, the NAYCC building offers rooms of different sizes for local people and businesses to hire.
NAYCC is seeking ‘asset transfer’ of their building from Durham County Council to the Board of Trustees, and hopes to provide more support, education and fun for the children, young people and families of Newton Aycliffe.
Are you self-motivated and enthusiastic? Could you spare a few hours per month to share your expertise with an ambitious team to enhance opportunities for the people of Newton Aycliffe?  If so, please contact NAYCC Chairman Vince Crosby on 01325 307 522 or chairman@nayc.co.uk
