On Friday 8th March 2024, St. Joseph’s celebrated International Women’s Day. We had special guests (some of our children’s family members) in school who told us about their jobs.
They told us about how they entered the profession and the qualifications they needed. All our visitors provided us with their own personal stories. As part of the talk, they brought in items they needed for their daily work and memories, such as photographs. At the end of each talk, children were provided with the opportunity to ask questions.
This helped develop their knowledge and understanding.
One Year five pupil stated “It was fascinating to hear how to become a nurse. It is definitely a career I think I may look at in the future. I really enjoyed the talk.”
We heard from some truly inspirational women on International Women’s Day and they provided children with a great insight into different career opportunities in the future.
