This year’s Aycliffe Pride, which takes place on Saturday 1st July at ROF59, is proud to announce a performance by Aycliffe resident, Lewis Redhead, who will join this year’s line-up, along with wannabe acts ‘The Spicy Girls’, Joe Tilly as ‘Freddy Mercury’, Andy Crosbie as ‘Elton John’ and Mike Hyde as ‘Gary Barlow’. Other performers include an all girl teenage local group ‘Pink Lemonade’, as well as ‘HC Theatre Group’, ‘Cassie Bowtell’ and ‘Sing It’. Nine fantastic acts for the low price of £6 for adults and £4 for under 18s.
Lewis Redhead is 24 years old, lives in Newton Aycliffe, and will perform in drag his ‘Lou Lou Lipstick’ persona. Lewis’ mother, Michelle Redhead, said Lewis is a big fan of other acts such as ‘Tess Tickle and the Dragettes’ and ‘Emma Royd’.
Lewis performed his act online recently and received a lot of positive feedback from friends and the local community. Lewis is well-known in the area and regularly sings at a local club.
Michelle and family friend, Andrea, designed and made his dress and a quality wig was donated by ‘Emma Royd’. Lewis is looking forward to performing at this year’s Aycliffe Pride and will be accompanied by some of the champions from Five Acres.
