Heighington U14 8 – Plains Farm U14 0
Heighington began their league campaign with a convincing victory against newly promoted Plains Farm. Heighington sporting their new kit, kindly sponsored by Fracks Transport, started off on the front foot from the beginning and first half goals from Olly Humphrey, Will Moffat and Will Barker meant that coach Mike Brain was able to make changes and keep the energy high throughout.
Half Time: Heighington 3 – Plains Farm 0
In the second half the impressive Heighington midfield continued to press and probe creating chances throughout, whilst the defence was always alert to counter attacks from Plains Farm. Further goals from Will Moffat and Will Barker made the game safe whilst a galloping Jensley Mondele equalled his goal tally from last season with a fine finish before Olly Humphrey added a final goal just before the whistle.
Final Score: Heighington 8 – Plains Farm 0.
Goals: Olly Humphrey 1; Will Moffat 2; Will Barker 3 (hat trick); Jensley Mondele 1 and Olly Wallace 1.
Man of the Match: Will Moffat. It speaks volumes of Will’s performance that he wins this award given that Barker scored a hat trick. Will’s all round game was excellent. He provided several excellent crosses in the first half and, as well as scoring two goals his work rate throughout the game was outstanding. Special mention to Plains Farm who never gave up and always tried to play football in the correct manner.

Heighington Whites U14’s 10 – Skelton United U14’s 2
Heighington continues its fine home form by dispatching a big physical Skelton team. We definitely deserved this result, we’ve worked all summer and today everything fell into place and the result shows the team we are becoming, half time we led 3-1 thanks to Nathan McKenna, Charlie Wilkinson and Arthur Shotton finding the net before half time. Second half, I asked the lads to put the game to bed and boy they didn’t disappoint me or any spectators. Too many goals to list today, unfortunately, but the work rate, the effort and discipline today was a step up. We have been working very hard all summer, week in week out, and today we got what we deserved, hard work beats talent and every time. Theo Denton, scoring his first goal for the club, was my personal favourite moment of the game after Dan won a last minute penalty. Very well done lads, one very proud and happy manager.
Goals: Nathan McKenna 1; Cruz Denton 1; Theo Denton 1; Dan Bennett Scott 1; Charlie Wilkinson 1; Arthur Shotton 4; Noah Myres 1.
MOTM: Charlie Wilkinson absolutely ran the game first half, brilliant goal and an assist to match, well done mate, keep it up.
Also just want to say thank you to all my parents too, what an amazing bunch I have and to Andy McKenna for all the help and support mate, I appreciate it a lot.
Felling Blacks U12 0 – Heighington U12 6
Heighington U12 boys saw themselves safely into the second round of the cup with arguably one of their best squad performances to date. A solitary goal from Lucas midway through the first half was the only difference between the sides at the halfway whistle. This left the crowd wondering if Heighington would rue a sack full of squandered first half chances. Thankfully the second half was a delight to behold as the boys quickly got hold of the game with Mitchell adding our second. Not long after, Bruno burst into the box at speed and fired a shot under the keeper which needed a toe from Jack just to get the ball over the line to make it 3. Jonah Harrop got himself on the score sheet with two stunning long range drives and Jonah Wade rounded off the scoring with a goal I hope he never forgets. A strike from 35 yards saw the keeper stranded as the ball sailed beautifully into the top corner, remarkable strike.
It’s not all about the goals of course – these kids knitted together very well as a squad today and defended very well on a rough pitch. As requested in the pre game team talk, they played for each other today and produced some fantastic clever football. Very well done lads.
MOTM: Isaac Morgan, he was an absolute trojan in the first half with two goal saving tackles. Gave everything as always, Mr Reliable.
Heighington FC U11 v Deerness Valley Thunder
Another positive display from the Heighington boys, who created lots of chances in a tough contest. The lads found themselves behind at half-time despite opening up the Deerness defence several times, only to be denied by good goalkeeping. But a sharp start to the second period soon brought a reply as Noah finished smartly to cap a good team move. The lads kept pressing and had the bulk of the chances as tricky dribbling. Strong running and some clever passing put Deerness on the back foot. But Heighington couldn’t add what would have been a well-deserved second goal. MOTM: Levi was a brick on the right side of defence in the first half and added another dimension when pushed into midfield, with his strong, determined forward running.
Big shout out and thanks to Chris Harper and the SASH Hardware gang for our fantastic sponsorship.
