Great Aycliffe Show fulfilled its promise as a good annual family event and although the weather wasn’t perfect for the two days it didn’t spoil the occasion.

Due thanks to the Town Council and staff who produced the Show and completed the tarmac work on the circular walkway/running track. It was much appreciated by mums pushing prams and especially by those in wheelchairs and electric scooters who for years have been prevented from attending the show due to bad ground conditions.

Admittedly the ground was still bad in places due to heavy rainfall prior to the start of the show, but generally people were able to get around and see the attractions.

The demonstrators and stallholders put in a lot of time and effort and it is hoped they all found it worthwhile.

The arena activities provided interesting free entertainment and the usual fundraisers around the perimeter seemed to enjoy good support although there appeared to be fewer stalls this year.

The Council Show Committee are always interested in receiving new ideas or suggestions to make the event more successful. ring 300 700 and talk to Marie Robinson.
