It was fantastic to meet together and celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in true British style.
Over 300 people of all ages gathered at Glow Church for a full street party. People brought food to share which was displayed in traditional style and they enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of entertainment and fun. After such a long time with restrictions in place during the Covid pandemic, the Glow Church community loved an opportunity to gather as a whole church family with many guests too. In attendance were people from the church as well as their friends and family members, families linked to Little Cubs Day Nursery and families that attend Glow’s weekly Stay and Play group. The afternoon’s celebrations included children’s activities organised by the Glow Church kids team, singers performing songs from the 50’s and much socialising with fellow guests!
What was clear from the afternoon together was the wonderful way people of all ages and backgrounds were mixing and having fun together. People who had never visited the church before said they had been welcomed and looked after and said they were looking forward to visiting the church on a Sunday for one of Glow Church’s services very soon.
Glow Church meets every Sunday for two services at the Glow building on Long Tens Way. Service times are 10:30am and 5pm. There is ample parking, a coffee shop is open after the services and an action packed kids programme for all children aged 1 to 11. If you are a parent or carer of children aged 0-4, please join us for our Stay and Play session every Monday during term time from 10:00-11:30am. We are a church that loves to welcome new people, so why not join us for a Sunday service this weekend.
