Newton Aycliffe FC are hoping to hold their second annual Family Fun Day this weekend. Hundreds of people turned out for last summer’s event – and organisers are expecting an even bigger turn-out for this year’s, on Sunday 19th August at Aycliffe Sports Club, after the original date in July had to be postponed due to bad weather.

A bigger and better range of entertainment is on show this year. Organiser Barry Waters said: “It should be a really good day for all the family. “There’ll be loads more on offer so, weather permitting, it should be a cracking day for everyone.”

Entertainment on the day will include a bouncy castle, a speed goal, a brass band, a range of American vintage cars, football coaching, an army assault course, an archery demonstration, Tombola, face-painting and a coconut shy, while refreshments will be readily available.

There’ll also be a table top sale (£5 a table). Anyone who’d like to get involved can contact Barry on 07864 718243, or email barrywaters212@msn.com
