Dear Sir,

We expected to be going into the election asking you to lend us your vote to become both town and county councillors.

However, due to there being so few people standing for election in the Woodham ward, we will be automatically elected to the town council.

We reaffirm our commitment to residents, not just in Woodham, but across Newton Aycliffe, to work hard for positive change in our town.

Work which will perhaps start to change the negative politics that we have seen for so long in Newton Aycliffe.

We hope you will now support us both, and our colleague Andrea Miller, for the county council, and for Andrea’s town council election to the Byerley and Cobbler’s Hall Ward.

Together we can build a better town, fix our unfair council tax situation and make the position of councillor in our town something we can all be proud of once again.

With thanks.

Councillors-elect

Michael Stead and Maureen Shelton
