Bishop Auckland Girls 4 v Aycliffe U13 Girls 5
The girls got off to a very positive start scoring first. Unfortunately, at start of the second half the team momentarily lost control of the game and went 4-1 down. Following this set back, the team bounced back and showed amazing resilience and determination to come back and win 5-4 in the late stages of the game.
Darlington Young Bulls 0 v Aycliffe U14 Eagles 6
Not a vintage performance from the lads, but a good result nonetheless, to maintain second place in the League. They’ll have to step it up a gear or two for the games, which will come thick and fast, this coming week. Well done to Edward and Toby for picking up Parents’ and Coaches’ MOMs. Goals: Josh, Isaac, Arthur (2), Finley and Edward. Assists: Zac, Isaac and Toby.
Redcar FC 4 v Aycliffe U13 Eagles 1 (Cup)
The boys didn’t look out of place playing against a team two divisions above them and the scoreline doesn’t do them justice. The Eagles created chances, however Redcar managed to score a couple of lucky goals and one top bins to give them a comfortable lead. The boys, however, battled on until the final whistle. Rossi won and scored a penalty for our only goal. MOM: Carter.
Norton & Stockton 1 v Aycliffe U14 Angels 9
Aycliffe bounced back from defeat in their last game with a mature and controlled display. Norton took the lead, but they soon equalised. At 1-1 the Angels’ keeper, Erin, made a great save and we never looked back, 2-1 up at HT and then seven second half goals without reply. Romilly scored 5, Faith 3 and Evie 1. Star players were Heidi and Daisy D.
Cleveland Hall v Aycliffe U11 Girls
Aycliffe pressed high straight from the kick off, Lily was the first to score, smashing it past the keeper from a cross from Amelia. Then Amelia managed to get two for herself from the edge of the box. Cleveland managed to get one back after a scramble in the box, leaving goalkeeper Daisy no time to react. HT 3-1. The girls then dominated the second half with four goals from Phoebe, Amelia completing her hatrick and Lily. POTM Phoebe.
Aycliffe U9 Eagles v Redcar Athletic
This was the first match in a few weeks & the first home game in some time. The boys were really at it from the first whistle and shot to a 3-0 lead in the first twelve minutes thanks to a hat trick from Thomas F and some good teamwork and passing play. Redcar pressed in the second half and were worthy of pulling back two goals, but the boys saw out the game for the win.
Pools Youth v Aycliffe U8 Eagles
The boys played their first game in a couple of weeks and started slowly conceding two goals. However, they managed to get back on level terms and went in at half time level. Aycliffe fell behind again to a long range strike, but never give up and deservedly scored to draw the match. Two goals from Mason and one for Josh.
Aycliffe U7 Eagles v Riverside Juniors
A great start to the game saw the Eagles take a 4-1 lead at half time with goals from Oliver, Mason x2 and Luke. Some of the passing between the boys, leading up to the goals, was fantastic. Two goals from Elijah in the second half meant the game finished 6-4. Some great saves from Oscar and fine defensive displays from Kurtis and Nathan rounded off a great morning.
Aycliffe U8 Wildcats v CLS Amazons
The girls got back to their best as they dominated the game. Strong performances from Ella, Alice, Phoebe and Layla and well taken goals from Matilda (5), Emilia (4), giving the Wildcats an emphatic win.
