Greenfield Arts were thrilled to bring Unfolding Theatre and their show “Best in the World” to Greenfield recently. The show is an uplifting, funny and motivational performance about being yourself and being the best version of you you can be.  It was filled with stories of athletes and sports personalities and included a section where everyone was encouraged to share their own golden moments and then go bananas. It was fantastic to have over 185 young people see the performance from Greenfield Aycliffe campus, Sunnydale campus and Woodham Academy.  The audience also enjoyed an inspirational talk from health and nutritional coach and entrepreneur, Laura Agar Wilson.
This performance is part of a larger project that Greenfield Arts are developing with funding from the public health team to bring a wide range of opportunities to our young people.  Alongside the show we have been refurbishing Studio 2 so we can do more creative work that encourages self-awareness and choices.  A group of young people from Greenfield have been working with artist Nicola Golightly on designs and ideas for studio 2, including a “Manifesto of Kindness.”
As part of this project and our Summer holiday programme we have some summer tasters planned including hula hooping and summer snacks before more regular sessions begin in September. To find out more or get involved visit our website www.greenfield-arts.co.uk.
