Two of our members took part in Schneider Electric Paris Marathon. The race attracted a record entry of over 41,000.
Both Aycliffe runners thoroughly enjoyed the gala atmosphere with colourful streamers on display throughout the city all helped by exceptional clement spring weather.
Clare Rose completed the course in 4:21:25 and Craig Robinson’s time was 5:30:38.
On the previous day the club was out in force at the Sedgefield Parkrun.
John Surtees was 3rd overall in 18:57, followed by Tracy Surtees in 23:22 and Mick Beadle in 23:23. Slowly getting back to form Gary Minns was next in 23:28. Rob Nicholson achieved yet another PB in 23:54 and Mick Brunskill ran it for the first time in 24:29. Next to cross the line was Dave Mackenzie in 27:31 followed by Julie Adams with a PB of 29:42 and Michael Smith in 31:05. Last but not least, PBs for Julie Spring 33:31 and Eve Doe 34:36.
In the Hackworth Parkrun at Shildon, Sandra Collins finished in 22:57 and Michelle Zamir achieved a new PB of 24:06.
