Jean Thompson, a former President of the Rotary Club of Newton Aycliffe has achieved the high honour of being elected District Governor for the North East.
Jean, who lives at Rushyford, takes office on the 1st July for a year representing 66 clubs in a worldwide organisation of 1.2 million members in over 200 countries.
Jean is well known in the area and was a Sales Director for Itec on the Business Park and also served as a Director of Business Links and Forums in South West Durham.
A keen Liverpool F.C. fan she also enjoys cooking, walking and socialising. Her role as District Governor will take most of her time over the next year, but her bubbly personality will ensure her success in the post of Governor.
