Dear Sir,
After reading the annual reports on the Council finances 2014/15 I feel bound to comment:
It states the Council is well managed and governed with sound strategies, policies and securities, economy efficiency and effectiveness in the use of public money.
But are we getting value for money and do we need 30 Councillors?
I read members’ attendances on the notice board in the town centre and we are not getting value for money from some of the Councillors who attend very few meetings.
Alison Palmer 12 meetings out of  23.
Dan Summers 12 out of  47.
Tom Twissell 5 out of 30.
Ray Bowman  8  out of  41.
Paul Kjenstad  27 out of  42.
Chris Wheeler 24 out of 44.
All these Councillors receive an annual allowance of £1,059.60.
Dan Summers has now resigned as he has been working abroad, but did claim his allowance. Does this not show the tax/rate payer that Councillors should only be paid for attending meetings and not receive a yearly allowance?
Roll on the By-Election – we may get someone from another Party in place.
