U12 Falcons 2

Leven Royals 0

The game started with Leven really pushing to get an early goal and it took us until midway into the first half to really get a good grip of the game. Once we did get on top we really did start to play some good football at times and that was especially evident in the well worked combination leading up to our first goal. After the first goal was scored the team kept on pushing until the 2nd came from a corner. Really good result for the lads but more pleased with how the team collectively adapted to the game and solved the problems set by Leven. Well done to all the players. Goals by Dylan and Louis. MOTM to Alex – great defensively and in possession, enabling us to go from defence to attack quickly. Great assist with a corner for our 2nd goal. Well done.

Bishop Auckland 2

We started the game slowly and found ourselves a goal down when they headed home from a corner. This became two goals down as they scored from the spot after been given a strange penalty. The lads dug deep and fought back when Johnson took our own penalty, tucking it into the top corner to take us 1-2 into HT. We were by far the better of the two teams during the second half, but missed a lot of chances to take control of the game. Kallum then tucked home our second goal and with 10 minutes to go, Johnson rounded the keeper for his second and the match winner. Very good team performance with everyone doing their jobs.

Girls Semi Final Cup Action – NAYFC Under 11 Girls were in semi final league shield action this weekend against Seaham. They were by far the better team, yet the game ended 1-1 and sadly Aycliffe lost on penalties. Great performance from all of the girls who shouldn’t be disappointed as they showed today just how great they are and only narrowly lost out on a place in the final.

NAYFC Under 14 Girls semi final league cup against Billingham Utd. As the game kicked off it was Aycliffe who created the most and the best chances. A couple of corner kicks from Hattie found the head of Macy but each time the ball went over the bar. Then a great move down the right found Ruby who took on the full back and a low cross to the back post found Alex who slotted to put us 1-0 up. A few more chances went by and Billingham still weren’t getting into the game. Just short of half time a ball somehow bounced through to their striker who scored at the second attempt HT 1-1

Second half a different Billingham took control of the game and another ricochet fell nicely for their striker to take the lead 2-1. Aycliffe consolidated and coped with the Billingham midfield and attack but we needed to change, a couple of positions swapped and we were getting at Billingham, 2 glorious chances were not taken and a great save from their keeper kept us at bay. Inevitably Billingham got the third goal and the tie was over despite the girls keeping their heads up and kept probing, we couldn’t get anything. FT 3-1. Great team performance from all 13 girls who all played their part in an excellent cup tie.
