Brogan Wilson who joined Newton Aycliffe Ju Jitsu club as a junior student, graded successfully for her senior Shodan black belt.  Brogan has tirelessly kept up her training which paid off recently when the North East Representative for WJJF Australia and senior coach for Newton Aycliffe Ju Jitsu club, Sensei Trevor Forsyth, took her through her paces. Brogan who is off to study law at Edge Hill University in Ormskirk said “Ju Jitsu has changed me for the better and helped me so much. I’m nowhere near the person I was when I first joined.” She thanked her instructor for pushing her and helping her to believe in herself saying,

“I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor and wouldn’t have done it without his guidance. It’s an experience I’ll never forget”. Brogan will be back on the mat when possible, working around her timetable at Uni. If anyone is interested in coming along and having a go, please contact Trevor Forsyth at countydurhamjujitsu@gmail.com in the first instance. The club runs on a Monday night from 5.30 to 9.00pm at Greenfield School in the main gym. Trevor said “Everyone is welcome, and of course a big thank you has to go out to all the parents who have committed to tirelessly bringing the juniors and intermediates to class each and every week. We are always looking for new students young and old to come and have a go, contact me, you’ll be surprised!”
