The weather took hold this weekend and resulted in most of the Youthy’s games being postponed. Thankfully a couple of the fixtures survived and proved fruitful.

Stockton Town Blues 1 – 3 Newton Aycliffe Youth U11’s Eagles

Straight back to winning ways on Sunday after our first defeat of the season in our last outing. Playing on the 3G pitch on a nice sunny morning the lads looked up for it from the first whistle. It started off a very tight game as Stockton also looked up for it but the boys were in control. Some nice football down the right and a lovely cross in from Noah enabled Kye to finish it off with a well taken goal. It was a good end to end game and Stockton then hit the post from a corner that bounced around the box before being cleared. Kye then had another chance from outside the box but couldn’t get the power to trouble the keeper. He didn’t have to wait long to get his second with a calm finish past the keeper after the keeper had saved a shot from Ethan. This took us to 0-2 up at half-time.

The second-half started as the first had finished a good contest between two teams really going for it. It was quite frantic at times with both teams not giving each other time to settle on the ball but I thought our lads managed this really well. About 15 minutes in, a lovely through ball from Owen set Kye on his way who showed good determination and strength to hold off a defender and finish neatly past the keeper, a well-deserved Hat-trick. Don’t know if we just relaxed or Stockton got more determined but they quickly got one back which give them a real lift and they started to really push us. This saw Jack, Joe, Az and Harry really busy at the back but to be fair to them they handled everything that was thrown at them and we weathered the storm to see the game out to the final whistle.

Well done to the subs when you came on you slotted in very well.

A special mentioned to Kye who scored all the goals to get his hat-trick and also to Noah who managed to beat him to the Man of the Match award.

Leven AFC Whites 0 – 6 Newton Aycliffe Youth U11’s Falcons

A solid performance by the boys on Sunday with some good link up play and solid in defence. It’s really good to see the team improving week after week now we are half way through our first season at 9 a-side. Some cracking goals today as well. Every single player played there part in the win. Our next game is going to be a real test for us against a very good Tibs side who currently sit below us in the league at 2nd place. Keep it up boys. Goals scored by Travis Dixon X1, Louis Parnaby X1, Ethan Tate X1 and Dylan Stewart X3. Man of the match went to Dylan Stewart.
